Arthroplasty is a surgical procedure to restore the function of a joint. As it turns out, robots can be used to assist with these procedures. As this video shows, the HURWA Joint Surgical Robot KUKA LBR Med (based on KUKA LBR Med) “allows for precise control over the amount and angle of osteotomy, ensuring accuracy of bone resection and limiting the osteotomy plane.”

Compared to traditional surgery, this approach significantly improves the accuracy of bone resection and extends the lifespan of the prosthesis.
